Arduino Greenhouse Shield

More to come!

Artifacts

Bdale's presentation from the Arduino Miniconf at LCA 2011 in Brisbane.

A schematic for this circuit can be found in the the hw/greenhouse repository at git.gag.com.

Status

The system was finally put online on 7 April 2013, controlling a 750 watt heater and through-wall fan with automatic louvers. The temperature thresholds are set to 7 and 32 C, below which the heater is on and above which the fan is on.

Future Plans

We're not using the 128k EEPROM part any more. Instead, the plan is to add a TeleShield board to the stack which gives us a micro SD card for massive data storage, and an Altus Metrum standard UHF radio link that will make it possible to check on the status of the greenhouse from the main house.
