2YikStik Build Steps

+ fins
    + vacuum bag fins with CF and glass
    + sand fins to finished shape

+ coupler
    + cut two 1" rings of coupler for locking airframe bulkhead
    + cut phenolic coupler for zipperless snout
    + vacuum bag a layer of CF to the inside of zipperless snout

+ cut airframe section for fin can
    + rough cut on chop saw
    + square ends on lathe

+ cut centering rings and bulkheads for airframe
    + 2 fin-lock thick rings
    + 1 zipperless ring
    + 1 bay divider bulkhead

+ fabricate fin positioning jig

+ fin can
    + scribe a reference line along MMT tube
    + drill forward fin-lock ring for TM antenna and charge wires
    + locate and epoxy forward fin-lock ring in place
    + tack fins in place on MMT, dry-fitting aft fin-lock ring
      and using jig to aid alignment
    + mask fins at airframe ID, and MMT at rear ring leading edge
    + apply fin to fin glass
    + mark and cut fin slots in fin can airframe tube

    + prepare two terminal strips with leads for aft charges
    + install terminal strips on zipperless coupler ring

    + mark and cut hatch in fin can airframe tube

    + cut phenolic coupler section to form ebay lip
    + mark coupler for access hatch
    + drill hatch and coupler for hold-down screws
    + cut access hatch in coupler section
    + install blind nuts in coupler section for hatch screws
    + countersink hatch for flat-head screws
    + install a thermistor in MMT near aft end

    + install coupler section over electronics
    + install fin can airframe, aft ring dry-fit only
    + install zipperless coupler
    + install zipperless coupler forward ring, routing wires aft

    + install aft ring
    + install tail cone

    + fin to airframe exterior fillets

    + mount electronics in fin can
    + attach fin and MMT thermistors to TeleScience
    + install final thermistor in airframe, attach to TeleScience

    + mark and drill hatch for static port positioned to allow
      operation of power switch

- airframe
    + fit eye nuts to 1/4-20 rod through bulkhead using fender 
    + install Pro75 6xl case with forward closure attached in
      completed fin can
    + measure forward-most extent of eye bolt on motor from 
      airframe seating surface on fin can to know where to put 
      the bulkhead

        29" from airframe rear to bulkhead aft face

    + epoxy bulkhead in airframe with coupler rings fore and aft

    + load main chute and related recovery components to determine
      required length of forward bay aft of nose cone
    + mark and cut airframe to length

    + machine a pair of 1515 rail buttons for countersunk screws
    + drill and tap aft fincan ring and airframe bulkhead for
      1/4-20 rail button screws
    - vent holes in fore and aft bays
    - drill and tap for 2-56 nylon shear pins forward and aft

- nose cone
    + pick up nose cone from Jeff Lane
    + cut ring and bulkhead
    + dry-fit ring and bulkhead in nose cone, mark and drill
      for attachment screws
    + install T-nuts in ring
    + epoxy ring in place
    + fabricate sled structure and attach to bulkhead
    + install electronics on sled
        + TM v1.1
        + TeleScience
        + 900mAh lipo
        + power switch
    + static vent hole
    + install 4-screw strip on bulkhead for forward charges
    + attach embedded thermistor wires to TeleScience board
    - replace t-nut that got pushed out of ring
    - clean up threads on all 4 t-nuts

- ground test
    - verify electronics
        - forward TeleScience .. make sure chan 2 not in use
    - load airframe as if for flight
    - verify RF connectivity to both electronics setups
    - prep and fire forward and aft charges to confirm deployment

- paint
    - prime fin can and airframe
    - sand as smooth as possible
    - paint fin can black
    - paint patch on front of airframe black
    - apply "2YikStik" mask over black area
    - paint airframe gold
    - remove mask from lettering
    - sand everything with wet/dry paper, polish
    - purple Altus Metrum decal on airframe tube
    - holographic decals on two fins?

    - Jeff's nose cone to be left unpainted for video, 
      maybe paint it gloss red later
